Telkomsat Distributes Aid for Disaster Victims in West Sulawesi and South Kalimantan

Tuesday, 19 January 2020 - PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) distributed aid to victims affected by natural disasters that hit Indonesian territory. The disaster areas that became the empathy and concern of all Telkomsat employees included the earthquake in Mamuju, West Sulawesi and flash floods that hit 7 regencies / cities in South Kalimantan.

As a form of concern for this natural disaster, Telkomsat distributed cash assistance, basic necessities and medicines needed by victims at the disaster site. The aid was handed over directly to the volunteers, and some of the aid was also given to several Telkomsat employees who were also affected by the earthquake and flash floods.

Representing Telkomsat, VP Corporate Secretary of Telkomsat, Mohamad Ramdan said, "Hopefully this assistance can ease the burden on the people who are affected by the disaster. And we hope that this disaster will pass quickly and people can do their usual activities".

Ramdan also added that the distribution of this assistance is a form of Telkomsat's commitment to carrying the spirit of BUMN #UntukIndonesia through Telkomsat's concern and social responsibility (Corporate Social Responsibility) to the community, especially victims affected by the disaster.

As is known, the earthquake that hit West Sulawesi and flash floods in South Kalimantan, left dozens of people dead and a number of buildings and houses damaged. 

In addition to causing damage to public facilities and residential homes, it also certainly has other impacts such as moral and material losses. 

As part of the community, Telkomsat continuously strives to align every business and operational activity so that it not only prioritizes financial benefits, but also focuses on social contributions, as a form of real contribution to Indonesia.
