The Patrakom-USAT service is based on the latest satellite communications technology, using an Ultra Small Aperture Terminal. The service connects remote earth stations (ship-board) with multiple Patrakom teleport HUBs (shore-side) in a star topology.
Patrakom-USAT is a shared bandwidth service with using THISS proprietary TDMA technology (outbound and inbound management) to allow savings on bandwidth transponder usage to keep airtime service prices affordable.
The current service configuration serves communication systems with data upload speeds ranging from 250 Kbps and data download speeds of up to 1 Mbps. The customer side equipment (ship-board) includes an integrated 0.6m stabilized antenna, modem controller with the ability to efficiently receive and transmit bursts of data, voice and video communication signals (temporary channel occupation and multiple access).
