DELI SERDANG, NORTH SUMATRA - Telkomsat, through its "Telkomsat Berbagi" program, consistently demonstrates its commitment to advancing education in Indonesia. This time, Telkomsat made a significant contribution by offering free satellite internet services in blankspot areas located at SMK Negeri 1 STM Hulu, Gunung Meriah Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

The assistance provided by Telkomsat as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is in the form of satellite-based internet access known as Mangoesky. Mangoesky service is a satellite-based broadband solution that enables communities in areas not yet reached by ADSL cable networks, fiber optics, or other high-speed cellular services, to enjoy reliable internet access. This is good news for rural areas, especially the Outermost, Forefront, and Underdeveloped (3T) regions.

The assistance was presented on October 20, 2023, and was directly received by the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 STM Hulu, Drs. Marlis Sikumbang. On this occasion, Drs. Marlis Sikumbang expressed, "We from SMK Negeri 1 STM Hulu, Deli Serdang, extend our gratitude to Telkomsat for the internet access aid. We hope this internet access will bolster our students' learning process. This facility facilitates our access to information from the Ministry of Education and Culture, especially in following the direction of the Independent Curriculum from the Minister. With internet support from Telkomsat, we aim to enhance the learning experience and deliver the best for our students in the future."

The school principal, Drs. Marlis Sikumbang, also emphasized the importance of internet access for school administration, particularly with the presence of a Computer Engineering and Networking (TKJ) department that requires internet connections for various learning practices.

Regarding this CSR,CEO of Telkomsat, Lukman Hakim Abd. Rauf, "We are committed to assisting the advancement of education in regions that require it. The Telkomsat Berbagi program is one manifestation of this commitment. We believe that internet access is the key to improving the quality of education and providing enhanced opportunities for Indonesia's younger generation."

Through this initiative, the company aims to contribute to the national intellectual enhancement program by penetrating internet/digital services in rural areas, particularly in 3T. "Telkomsat remains committed to offering the best services to the entire Indonesian community and supporting the government's program concerning digital equality in Indonesia, especially in the 3T areas," remarked Lukman.

The "Telkomsat Berbagi" program not only yields direct benefits for students and educators but also stands as tangible evidence of Telkomsat and the Telkom Group's contribution to national development, particularly in education.
