Telkomsat supports Telkom in providing communication on the Patrol Customs Excise Directorate ships

Jakarta - Thursday, March 14, 2019. PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) supports PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) in providing Patrol Ship Data Communication Maintenance Services Directorate General of Customs Excise (DJBC). The commitment to sign this collaboration was conducted at the Head Office of DJBC, Gedung Kalimantan, Jl. Jenderal A Yani, Rawamangun, East Jakarta.

The event was also attended by the Director of Customs and Excise Information - Agus Sudarmaji, Director of Investigation and Enforcement - Bambang Wijayanta, Head of Marine Patrol Subdirectorate - Untung Purwoko, Head of Sub-Directorate of PKIMLE IKC - Bambang Wijayanta, Telkom EVP DGS - Mohammad Salsabil, Director of Telkomsat - Tonda Priyanto , and Telkomsat's Senior Leader which produced an agreement to provide intranet and internet communications for 15 Patrol Vessels and Control Command Centers (Puskodal) through Telkomsat's VSAT Gyro service for ten months.

In his remarks delivered by Mohammad Salsabil, Telkom has now prepared ICT progress infrastructure that serves land, sea and air. For land, Telkom has installed a 155,000 Km fiber optic cable that connects Western and Eastern Indonesia. As for sea and air, there are three satellites operated by Telkom. Among them are Telkom 2 Satellite, Telkom 3 Satellite and Merah Putih Satellite. With infrastructure like this, it is expected to be able to connect Indonesian communications both land, sea and air.

With the reliable VSAT Gyro service from Telkomsat, it is expected to be able to support the communication of DJBC patrol vessels in conducting surveillance in Indonesian waters in real time.
