Telkomsat Supports Telkom Indonesia in Providing Transponder Services for the TNI

Jakarta - PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) supports PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) in cooperation with the Indonesian National Army Headquarters (TNI Mabes) in providing Satellite Transponder bandwidth throughout 2021. The signing of this agreement was carried out at Hotel Aryaduta, Jl Prajurit KKO Usman dan Harun No.44-48, Gambir, Jakarta on January 6, 2021.

This cooperation contract is for twelve months and is carried out starting January 1, 2021. From this cooperation it is hoped that the provision of telecommunications via the Merah Putih Satellite to support the performance of the TNI in carrying out its duties, especially for soldiers who are in the 3T area.

This signing was carried out by Paban II / Kom Skomlek TNI, Colonel CHB Sonny Wellem Pondaag; and EVP DGS PT Telkom Indonesia, Dedy Mardhianto; and witnessed by Askomlek Commander of the TNI, Laksda TNI Lutfi Syaefullah. And attended by the Directors and Senior Leaders of Telkomsat, the Ministry of Defense, TNI Headquarters, Indonesian Army Headquarters, Indonesian Navy Headquarters, and Air Force Headquarters.

In his speech, Dedy Mardhianto, expressed his gratitude to the TNI for entrusting Telkom in providing ICT services. This commitment will be properly maintained by Telkom, which is the only BUMN in the field of ICT in Indonesia.

He explained that Telkom always carries out the mission of Bring Digital to the Nation, where this mission is an effort to digitize the country and in it the element of the TNI headquarters is one of Telkom's focuses. In addition, he also informed that Telkomsat until now manages 3 satellites which have 133 transponders and will launch the satellite again in 2024.

Director of Commercial Telkomsat, Puguh Indaryono said, "Telecommunication via satellite is a service that is secure in communicating and has a reliable network compared to other media. So that satellite services are the right choice in supporting the performance of the TNI in maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia."

With this signing, it is a motivation for Telkomsat to continue to move forward as a locomotive for digitization and to provide the best dedication for the telecommunications industry, the nation and the country.
